TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale Announces Company Promotions

TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale, a Broward County based company, announces the promotion of two captains. "It is always a pleasure to reward dedicated, hard-working staff," commented Larry Acheson, President and Founder of TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale. "Operating a 24 hour, 365 day a week business puts great demands on all of our staff," he continued. "It is especially hard on management. The buck stops with them."

Captain Chris Denhard has been named Supervisor, South Office. Denhard has worked in the marine industry for over 14 years. He is a Dive Master and has experience throughout the Caribbean and Florida. Denhard was hired in 1998 by TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale as a towboat captain. He quickly advanced to a senior staff position specializing in mega-yacht river towing and assistance, boat show yacht assistance, and assisting in thousands of salvage operations including boarding a burning yacht and extinguishing the flames to single-handedly saving a vessel from destruction on a Bahamian reef. When asked if he would accept the position, Denhard responded, "I've wanted this position since I started here."

Captain Brent Thompson has been named Assistant Supervisor, North Office. Thompson has been involved with the marine industry since he was a child growing up around boats. Prior to his employment with TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale, Thompson worked at marinas. He is an accomplished salvage diver and has cruised the Bahamas and Florida Keys extensively. He has been employed by TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale since 2003 and has assisted in numerous salvage operations. "I welcome the challenge," noted Thompson when asked about his new position.

TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale was founded in 1989 by Larry Acheson. The company operates from three ports and provides towing and assistance to boaters in all of Southeast Florida and the Bahamas. The TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale operation has conducted thousands of salvage and towing operations over the years and routinely assists law enforcement with search and rescue operations. The company continues to expand its services to include charter and launch services and mega-yacht towing and assistance.
